I studied for an MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College as I became interested in the Environment and read around the subject.
They weren’t that significant overall, patchy impact. The main areas were in the public domain because it became more difficult for crews to collect and for public recycling centres to observe social distancing rules. As a result there were some material shortfalls e.g. waste wood, textiles and food waste.
Being able to deal with a lot of variables.
Increasing separation of materials enabling increased use of waste material as feedstock for energy, processes and materials.
Recognition that waste is a problem of environment and behaviour and that Government’s worldwide need to address this public health and economic problem.
At this stage I’d say it’ too early to say.
