USW Careers and Business School are pleased to announce that the student placement programme within Cardiff Council’s Commissioning and Procurement Team has won a national Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement award for 2019/20.
The scheme, which has been recognised in the Emerging Procurement Talent category of the UK‘s premier procurement awards, has been running for six years in collaboration with the University of South Wales and provides students with knowledge of the Council’s procurement processes and invaluable on the job experience.
Up to three students a year from the BA Logistics and Supply Chain Management course are taken on placement, giving them high levels of responsibility, being typically accountable for leading and managing £10- £20 million worth of tendering activity.
