Heritage Training Placements 2019
Historic England, Swindon

We are excited to be able to offer a number of training placements for undergraduates or recent graduates (graduated within the last 18 months) who are interested in gaining skills and experience as preparation for a career in heritage and have Black, Asian or other Minority Ethnic Heritage or mixed heritage (please see below for more information why). Candidates should also be ordinarily resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK, now and on graduation. Candidates must be undergraduates at a UK university or have graduated from an undergraduate course at a UK university within the last 18 months.

The placements programme is managed and coordinated by Historic England but placements are offered at a range of heritage sector organisations.

You don’t necessarily need to be working towards a qualification relevant to heritage, but you will need to persuade us that you care about heritage.

It is important to understand that the placements are not jobs. You will not receive a salary or wage but a training bursary to cover living expenses. Bursaries are £300-£350 per week (depending on location).

The placements will last around eight weeks – exact details will be agreed with the successful candidates or specified in the information pack but we expect them to be completed before University terms begin in October 2019.
