We are on the lookout for people who stand out from the crowd.  And we want to reflect all our audiences, so, whoever you are, we want you, your voice, your stories, and your experience of living in the UK.  BBC Wales News and Current Affairs is an integrated team of journalists working across radio, TV and online in English and Welsh.  Some of our output includes BBC Wales Today, the daily news programme on BBC One Wales, and Radio Wales News which produces some of BBC Wales’ most popular programmes.  Our aims are excellence, collaboration and innovation - for our teams and for our output.
We are now looking for talented, flexible multimedia journalists to join our pool of freelancers.

Role Responsibility

We need freelancers to cover project work, leave and other ad-hoc reasons, across both our English and Welsh news services.  Based in the BBC newsroom in Cardiff and with opportunities in our Bangor newsroom too, as a Journalist you'll write stories for the web and radio, connect with our audiences on social media, find guests and film news reports.

Are you the right candidate?

Whether you read bulletins and make creative radio / television / online packages, write for young audiences or make stand-out videos and/or social media content, or whether you don’t have any of that experience but can demonstrate a keen interest in Journalism, we’d like to hear from you.
