The USW Career Mentoring scheme is designed to inspire and support you with your career planning and personal development. The scheme is available to all year 2 students. You (the mentee) will get to spend time with a professional (the mentor) gaining an insight into their career path and current role as well as having opportunities to share and discuss your career aspirations.

You will be able to search through the mentor database to find a mentor that best suits you.

During this mentoring program you will improve your communication skills, learn about different perspectives and experiences, increase confidence and seek advice and guidance to aid your transition into the world of work.

Time Commitment

The USW Career Mentoring Scheme is designed to be flexible to suit the needs of both parties. Ideally the relationship would involve a six-month commitment and mentors/mentees will meet in person or via a virtual platform such as Skype/MS Teams at least once per month for about an hour. We also expect that there will be some initial email contact over the course of the mentoring period.
