Karina, a graduate of BSc Human Resource Management; and Maciek, a graduate of LLM Laws set upĀ Flawsome! in 2018 after they spotted a gap for healthier, tastier products that would help save food waste.Ā
Karina and Maciek went on a trip to a local farm and found out that a shocking 3.7 trillion apples are wasted globally due to aesthetic standards or supply chain inefficiencies. This gave them an idea to start buying surplus and wonky fruit overproduced by farmers within 30km of their production space, and transform it into cold-pressed juice with no added sugar.Ā
Since 2018, they have been bringing people together and encouraging positive change - now saving over 3 million fruit!Ā Each Flawsome! bottle and can contains at least 2 fruits saved from being thrown away.
Now a Certified B Corp, Flawsome! aims to save 20,000 tonnes of wonky surplus fruit and vegetables in 5 years, and donate 1,000,000 drinks to charities in the UK to help children, families, and others facing hunger.
Flawsome supplies to major stores such as Morrisons, Sainsbury's, WH Smith, and more. The University of South Wales also stocks their products in food outlets around all campuses. Check out their website and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
