TV producer based in Los Angeles. I graduated in 2006. I've produced for ABC, A&E, History, Oxygen, Discovery, BBC, CNN and CBS. My focus is on true crime.
My day includes filming Zoom's with potential interviewees, digging into cases (finding records, police reports,) even going to court, having board meetings and presenting stories to the network or production company.
A prosecutor for the CPS in the Magistrates Court section & specialises in Road Traffic offences & Wildlife offences.
No 2 days are the same. If I am in court, I will likely be in a case management / not guilty plea court, fixing trials & dealing with trial issues. When in the office I could be dealing with my own cases - reviewing them, ensuring we have enough evidence & a prosecution remains in the public interest. I often have to liaise with the police, defence solicitors & court staff.
Protected species surveys, stakeholder engagement, desk-based research.
During peak survey season (March-October) I may spend my week looking for protected species at a proposed site for development, such as dormouse, badger and bat surveys. This typically involves looking for field signs of their activity and recording it on GIS software. Off-peak (November-February) is typically spent doing desk-based activities such as research, data analysis, report writing and GIS.
