USW Enterprise organises activities all year long! From the Summer Startup Week to the Global Entrepreneurship Week in November, to startup visa sessions and free marketing masterclasses - there's something for everyone.

Whether you’re looking to develop start-up ideas, make it as a freelancer, grow your own business or social enterprise, the Summer Start-up Week has something for everyone. 

SE_FreelanceFast_120520_MH.jpgFreelance Fast Track is an action packed two half-day bootcamp to make you Freelance ready (or ready to start your business). The two days cover a range of essential topics, and you will also have the chance to pitch your enterprise idea and secure up to £1000.

spirngboard.jpgThe graduate business start-up & freelance accelerator - USW Launch - can help you concentrate on your business idea with funding and enterprise mentorship. Unlock start-up funding of up to £5,000 and expert business coaching to get your idea off the ground.

bright-ideas-den-logo.jpgThe Bright Ideas Den funding is available to current students and graduates of up to 3 years from the University of South Wales, for a chance to pitch up to £1,000 to kickstart your bright idea or existing business.

BID takes place in November, March and July each year. Applications for the next BID will open on the 8th of October, 2021.

If you have an idea and are ready to take it forward, the Freelancers Academy focuses on giving you the skills, knowledge and network to make your idea happen.  During the intensive 5 days you will learn the practical aspects of starting a business (including marketing and finance) as well as developing skills such as pitching and networking.

The workshops will be led by business experts and supported by guest entrepreneurs sharing their stories and tips for success throughout the week.  The week will cover all the basics of business plans, marketing, networking and getting yourself out there, the week is designed to help entrepreneurial students and graduates move into the world of self-employment.

Mentoring will be available to all participants and the week will culminate in the chance to pitch for a share of £3,000 cash.

Create and Collaborate.png

Create & Collaborate is a Networking event that brings together students & graduates from a range of courses within the creative industries, and creative working professionals. Encouraging them to join forces and develop their strengths. Each event brings together a network of creatives and gives them the opportunity to work collaboratively across the disciplines. By extending this network, students and graduates are able to develop creative working relationships with like-minded individuals and use these connections to make links with future projects and enterprise opportunities.

Previous guests have included representatives from: Orchard Media, Creative Skills, Ffilm Cymru, National Theatre Wales, Cardiff TV, Hay Festival.

Mix Up and Pitch.jfif

Want to improve your networking skills? Don't miss out on these opportunities to Mix Up & Pitch with local businesses, business advisors and other student and graduate entrepreneurs. This event is open to students and graduates from all Welsh universities.

There is also a chance for students to pitch and win prizes (sign up required).

Marketing & Branding Masterclass

Offering students and graduates involved in business startup or freelance the chance to get expert advice from professionals and experienced entrepreneurs.

Specialist session focusing on your marketing and branding – tops tips, overcoming challenges. Interactive workshop followed by one-to-one tailored advice.


Freelance & Start Up Masterclass

A full day series of Masterclasses to provide you with the essentials to Freelance or launch your own business! Interactive sessions delivered by experts.

The new Graduate Route Visa enables graduates to undertake employed or self-employed work at any level.

USW Enterprise and the Immigration and International Student Advice (IISA) team runs regular graduate route visa information sessions.
