Logistics and Supply Chain Management graduate Dewi is now a buyer at Axiom.
“I am really enjoying the experience that I am gaining working for Axiom. When I first started at the company I was quite overwhelmed with the environment as it was not something I was used to. However the graduate program gave me a good insight into how things work and how the varying challenges should be dealt with. The company has been through some rapid growth over the last few years so keeping on top of day-to-day work is always a challenge.
The course was and continues to be vitally important in my current role. The theory I learnt in University and the way we were taught to research has given me so much help and I don't think I would be able to do it without that backing. At the time, I must admit I was always wondering why we were studying certain subjects but looking back I appreciate everything we were taught as it has helped me understand a so much more.
The year-long sandwich placement I did as part of the course was also hugely valuable. I worked at Intel Corporation UK in Swindon as a Regional Supply Analyst intern for Europe, Middle East and Asia. I was responsible for inventory management at Intel's European hub based in Amsterdam and dealt with worldwide stakeholders - planners in America, other supply analysts from Malaysia, Japan, America, as well as customers from all over the world. I really developed my organisational and people skills as part of the placement, and gained valuable real life experience which undoubtably helped me to secure my current job at Axiom.”
