Meadow Street Garden in Treforest is a Nature and Community Partnership. It started as a patch of disused land, which has been brought back to life as a popular community garden by Pontypridd Town Council.
Having recently been awarded a grant from the National Lottery's People and Places Fund and the Local Places for Nature scheme, it will enable the transformation of the site, with the aim of bringing people from across the Pontypridd area together to enjoy the benefits of being outdoors in green spaces and nature while helping to cultivate a vibrant hub for the community.
You could:
- Do some basic garden/woodland maintenance
- Learn to grow fruit and vegetables for yourself and the community
- Enjoy nature and green space
- Make new friends and local connections
- Improve your health and wellbeing
- Share skills and knowledge
Why volunteer? The beauty of volunteering is that you do it when it suits you, for as long as it suits you. There is no pressure to work, we are keen to encourage people to come and enjoy the space and spend time in and around nature!
We will be meeting outside the Library at Treforest campus to walk down at 1.00pm, or you can meet us there (you can come for any length of time that you are available)
Please ensure that you wear appropriate shoes to attend the event
