Networking is the process of speaking to people and making contacts to help you with your career development.

Establishing a network can help you to:

  • Get advice and information about your future career, skills, and development
  • Find out about work experience opportunities or giving you advice on how to find work experience
  • Signposting you to job opportunities.

A well-established network can help with career planning and make it easier for you to find a job when you graduate.

Many jobs are never advertised (often called the hidden job market) and a good network can help you to uncover these opportunities.

This session will introduce the basics of networking to help you prepare to have effective conversations and build your professional network.

This session will be delivered online
