Summer Start-up Week 

Develop your start up knowhow at our free online Summer Start-Up Week

Have a business idea?  Not sure where to start? The Summer Start-up Week mission is clear,            to support as many students and graduates to get their ideas off the ground!

Register here to join the current students, college leavers and graduates looking to be inspired, learn, question and network. The five days will contain a mix of daily webinars and live Q&A sessions, delivered by experts and entrepreneurs giving you the key elements needed to help your idea be successful from research and marketing to cash flow and funding.

Once you register you will be sent the full event schedule, including details of the pre-event online meet-up, daily competitions and end of week live music celebration.   

The event is free to attend and is open to those studying or have studied at a Welsh College or University.

The 5-day course will cover 10 topics, designed to challenge and motivate you to develop and test your ideas through the following activities:

Day 1

  • An introduction to Self-Employment, Freelancing, Enterprise and Social Enterprise.

  • The 6 C’s of Business Planning- Concept, Customers, Competitors, Compatibility, Contents, Cash.  

Day 2

  • Researching your market.

  • Marketing and promoting your products and services.

Day 3

  • Using Digital Marketing and Social Media.

  • Financing your new enterprise – Pitching for investment.

Day 4

  • Intellectual Property  - Protecting your ideas

  • Controlling the money in your business – Cash Flows, price and costings 

Day 5

  • Working with others – The art of networking.

  • Your next steps and on-going support for your business.
