Skills Volunteering Cymru (SVC) is an independent volunteer-led charity established in 1971. Our aim is to enhance the lives of disadvantaged groups living within the South-East Wales area through the development of our volunteering projects. We currently run over 30 volunteer-led projects which provide support to various groups including children and adults with disabilities, adults with mental health conditions, older people, homeless people, young carers, and youths who are experiencing difficulties at school. We additionally work in partnership with Cardiff Council, RCT Council, and South Wales Police to deliver projects which aim to make South-East Wales a safer and greener community.
This webinar will be a chance to hear about SVC’s current volunteering opportunities available, and an overview of how we’ve adapted our work in the past six months in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. The majority of our projects are now delivered digitally – such as digital befriending opportunities and online activity sessions – though we still have a small number of in-person opportunities available. This webinar will also include a Q&A session, in case you have any questions about our projects, how digital volunteering works, placements, or any other queries you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!
