As a graduate of the University of South Wales, you can continue to book appointments, ask a question as well as attend events that we organise.

Appointments are available in person on any USW campus or via Skype or telephone. You can also book a mock interview.

When you request to book a careers appointment via Graduate Questions please include the following:

  • what type of appointment you would like, whether in person, via Skype (worldwide) or telephone (UK only)
  • if in person, what campus you would prefer to attend, bearing in mind that it could be with an adviser who is not connected with your subject area
  • what the appointment is about – for example, career options, CV check or mock interview
  • any other information you think is relevant for arranging a careers appointment, for example – if you are only available on certain days

If you would like to upload your CV or document relating to a job application or for a mock interview before the appointment, please do this via Graduate Questions.

Please state at the time of booking that you would like a mock interview.  If you are booking online, please let us know in comments.

You can book a mock interview if you would like to be questioned under interview conditions for a particular job or position.  Please provide us with as much information as you can about the job and organisation you are applying for or the type of jobs you are targeting, for example, job description, person specification.  This will help us prepare the type of questions you may receive in the interview.   Plus a copy of your CV or application form.

You will be asked to upload your supporting documents when you receive your booking confirmation email. If you do not receive this, please upload stating your appointment date using ask a question.

You need to book and also send us the relevant information (job description, cv etc) at least 48 hours in advance (Monday to Friday and excluding weekends) to give the careers adviser enough time to prepare.

You can change the type of appointment when you receive your booking confirmation email.  You will be asked to provide us with your telephone number or Skype address.

Skype appointments (30 mins)

You will need to make sure you have logged onto Skype at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.  Your careers adviser will have sent you a request in Skype to add you to their Skype contacts list.  You must accept this request prior to the appointment.  The adviser will then invite you to a Skype conversation at the arranged appointment time.

By choosing this type of appointment you agree to the following:

  • the careers adviser reserves the right to terminate the session should they feel the need to do so.
  • you understand that the session will not take place if you are not logged into Skype or do not accept the invitation to the meeting at the appropriate time.

The careers and employability service guarantee that they will not make a video or audio recording of any Skype sessions and that any text messages sent will be deleted at the end of the session.
