Ask a question / book an appointment

Due to current circumstances we are delivering an online service

We are offering 1-2-1 careers appointments via Skype and telephone.  If you don’t have Skype you can download it to any device for free here.

When you book your appointment please ensure that you provide your telephone number or Skype ID – we will then send a request to connect up with you. It would also be really useful to have an idea of your career enquiry to help us prepare.  If possible, try to book an appointment with an adviser specialising in your faculty area – just lookout for this when you book.

You can also use our ‘Ask a Question’ service.  This guidance service enables you to access careers support online, and includes the option of sending your CV, covering letter or application for checking.

These services are available to students and graduates of the University of South Wales (including partner colleges).

Preparing for your Appointment:

  • When booking your appointment please include your Skype id or telephone number.
  • When booking your appointment, please add any notes about what you wish to discuss – this will help the Adviser to prepare.
  • If you have a document to be checked – CV / Application / LinkedIn profile – please send the relevant information before the appointment. This can be done via Ask a Question (above) once you have booked your appointment.
  • You will need to make sure you have logged onto Skype at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. The Adviser will then invite you to a Skype conversation at the arranged appointment time.

By choosing this type of appointment you agree to the following:

  • The Careers Adviser reserves the right to terminate the session should they feel the need to do so.
  • You understand that the session will not take place if you are not logged into Skype or do not accept the invitation to the meeting at the appropriate time.
  • The Careers and Employability Service guarantees that they will not make a video or audio recording of any Skype sessions and that any text messages sent will be deleted at the end of the session.
